Condensate Line

What is Condensate Line?

The condensate line is the drain that carries away the water your AC pulls out of the air at the evaporator coil. When it clogs — typically with algae and dust sludge — the drain pan overflows, either tripping a float switch that shuts the system down or sending water into ceilings and closets.

Why it matters in Arizona

Arizona's twist: the line sits nearly dry all spring (desert air yields little condensate), then monsoon humidity suddenly demands it move real water — and the winter's accumulated dust chokes it on the year's hottest week. A pre-monsoon flow check is the two-minute fix.
